He worked in the Dorrance shart during the past twenty-five years and was considered one of the most 3 CONT expert miners in that colliery. George served on the election board of the Second District of the First Ward for many years 3 CONT He was held in such high esteem that no one cared to run against him. He was a hord worked - a consistent worker 3 CONT and a young man who exhibited more than a passing pride in his wife and family. 3 CONT His father, Peter Sooby, who survives him, is one of the best known men in Wilkes-Barre. He came to this country from Denmark 3 CONT when he was a young man and went to work in the Prospect shaft.
